Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan & UAE’s Soft Power Strategy

Soft power is an important factor in a country’s influence on the world stage. It involves using cultural, political, economic, sporting, and artistic methods to attract and persuade others, rather than relying solely on military or economic power. Soft power is becoming increasingly crucial in our interconnected world, and it can significantly impact international relations and events.

The UAE, under Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s leadership, is actively working to enhance its soft power through political, economic, environmental, and technical efforts. They are also forming strategic alliances with other nations to strengthen their foundations.

The UAE follows a tolerant approach that aligns with the legacy of its founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Examples of the UAE’s efforts to improve their reputation globally include hosting COP28, contributing to resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, climate change, and Covid-19. To further enhance their soft power, the UAE created a “Soft Power Strategy” and a National Council for Soft Power in 2017, and set up institutions to promote their interests worldwide.
